If you are considering outsourcing the development of a dictionary database for your linguistic project (be it a software dictionary, translation system, spell-checker, a language research database or something else), you are in the right place. Lingvistica' 98 and VirtualWare Technologies have been in this business since 1989.

We develop linguistic resources of different types: reference, morphological, translation and phonetic dictionaries, thesauri, machine translation and spell-checking oriented linguistic databases, etc. Among the languages we are currently dealing with are Arabic, Albanian, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Ukrainian. While we can work on virtually any language pair, our area of preference is the English to/from any language direction, as well as one-language dictionaries.

A series of terminological dictionaries on behalf of SYSTRAN, machine translation oriented dictionaries for the PARS translation system, a comprehensive Polish dictionary for France Telecom, dictionaries of proper names on behalf of NMSU CRL, these are just a few projects to name in these regards.

What We Deliver:

Linguistic/dictionary file in the plane text format or another format (database, spreadsheet, word processor, proprietary format, etc). (We can also take care of your dictionary updating needs.)
Development Cost: $0.09+ per dictionary line/entry.
Pre-compiled software component capable of performing, on the linguistic file, dictionary-related functions such as sorting, filtering, searching, browsing, wild card querying/extracting, fuzzy matching, morphological analysis, knowledge mining, etc.- in general, any function according to your specification. (This component, along with the linguistic file, can be integrated into and reused as a "black box" with any linguistic application you may want to develop.)
Development Cost: Negotiable.
End-user interface (Windows, Web, etc) to the pre-compiled software component and the linguistic file.
Development Cost: Negotiable.
Custom-made linguistic-related software in accordance with your specification (computer dictionaries, Web spiders, spell-checkers, etc).

Off-the-Shelf Dictionary Files

We offer a series of off-the-shelf general bi-directional translation dictionaries. They are supplied as plain text files and can be used/reused in your linguistic software applications/projects (in any way and as many times as you may wish). These files include words and phrases, their translations, and part-of-speech tags. The table below lists the dictionary files available. It also indicates the approximate number of entries per language direction, and the price per language pair.

Dictionary Updates: Each dictionary will be updated on a regular basis (once or twice a year). For the registered users, upgrading up to 50,000 entries will be free of charge. Further updating will be at $0.09 per dictionary entry.
